We have also collaborated with People to People Health Foundation (PPFH) to support an exciting project. India shoulders a significant burden of non-communicable diseases, prompting responses from multiple agencies to help with population-based screening. Project PRANAA by PPHF is an initiative being run in Doddatumkur, Avalahalli, and Siddhapura in Bengaluru to screen Indians over the age of 30 years old for NCDs and to provide preventative counselling. TBR is working with PPHF to serve our millet-based breakfast packs to all 9,000 beneficiaries being screened this year. Millets play an important role in preventing NCDs and is a great way to introduce so many people to healthier, diverse diets.
Our partner Kellanova India (formerly Kelloggs) provided their protein muesli, fortified cornflakes, and other tasty breakfast packs during the May vacation month which allowed TBR to support 4,798 children at home. We are grateful for the extra support, and excited to see their employees also volunteer and spent time with children enrolled in the BrightStart program.
